Former India pacer Munaf Patel was on Tuesday roped in by Delhi Capitals as their bowling coach for the upcoming version of the Indian Premier League. The 41-year-old Munaf will work alongside head coach Hemang Badani and DC director of cricket Venugopal Rao. Munaf, who retired from skilled cricket in 2018, will likely be taking over the high-profile teaching duties for the primary time in his profession. He’ll substitute James Hopes, who left the franchise together with head coach Ricky Ponting publish IPL 2024.
Munaf has represented India throughout codecs, having performed 86 worldwide matches and taking 125 worldwide wickets.
He was part of India’s World Cup-winning squad in 2011 and likewise gained the IPL twice — Rajasthan Royals (2008) and Mumbai Indians (2013).
DC have retained 4 gamers — Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Tristan Stubbs and Abishek Porel — for the upcoming season.
The franchise can have a handbag of Rs 73 crore heading into the mega public sale in Jeddah on November 24 and 25. DC can have the choice of retaining two extra gamers courtesy of the Proper To Match (RTM) playing cards. They may retain a capped and an uncapped participant, or two capped gamers.
