Authorities are trying to find a Yellowstone Nationwide Park worker who has been lacking for greater than per week after he ventured onto a mountain peak alone.  

Austin King, 22, was final heard from Sept. 17, 2024, round 7 p.m. That’s when he referred to as a member of the family from the highest of Eagle Peak, in accordance with the Nationwide Park Service (NPS).

King was dropped off by boat Sept. 14 and spoke with a backcountry ranger close to Howell Creek the next Monday.

A Minnesota native, King labored as a concession worker for Yellowstone Nationwide Park. He was reported overdue to the Yellowstone Interagency Communications Middle when he didn’t arrive for his boat pickup close to Yellowstone Lake’s Southeast Arm Friday.

Search and rescue efforts started Saturday morning, involving aerial reconnaissance and floor search operations within the excessive mountain areas of Eagle Peak. Rescuers found King’s camp Saturday night within the higher Howell Creek space. 

Greater than 20 floor searchers, two helicopters, unmanned air techniques and a search canine group are concerned within the search operation.

King is described as 6 ft tall and weighing 150 kilos with tattoos and glasses. He was final seen sporting a black sweatshirt and grey pants and was carrying a “dark-colored” backpack, NPS mentioned.
