The previous New York Metropolis school artwork professor who famously put a machete to the neck of a newspaper reporter was caught chanting about “slitting the grasp’s throat” throughout an anti-Israel rally final week.
Shellyne Rodriguez, who beforehand taught at Hunter School and on the Cooper Union College of Artwork, spoke to a crowd Friday exterior the Brooklyn Museum, the New York Put up reported.
“Our ancestors… dreamed of us slitting the grasp’s throat,” Rodriguez chanted within the video whereas sporting a t-shirt emblazoned with “Police Homicide Folks.”
“Our ancestors are horrified to see Black folks, Latinx folks, Indigenous folks, kids of migrants, and Muslims becoming a member of the slave patrol NYPD and [inaudible] plantation overseers within the jails and prisons,” she mentioned.

Rodriguez was fired from Hunter School in 2023 after she was seen on video lunging from her condominium and into the hallway the place she held a machete to veteran New York Put up reporter Reuven Fenton’s throat.

Rodriguez was promptly fired from Hunter School. In an electronic mail to college students, she blamed termination on “fascism,” based on an Instagram submit by the Cooper Union College students for Justice in Palestine chapter.
