The Justice Division has had discussions about the way forward for the corruption case towards New York Metropolis Mayor Eric Adams — together with the potential for dropping the case all collectively, sources accustomed to the talks informed ABC Information.
No closing choice has been made and the talks between the primary Justice Division and prosecutors with the Southern District of New York have been preliminary, the sources stated.
Adams has hung out with President Donald Trump in latest weeks, together with assembly with him in South Florida along with attending his inauguration. The mayor has the backing of Trump, who has claimed Adams was unjustly charged by federal prosecutors and has stated he would “have a look” at a pardon for him.
“I believe that he was handled fairly unfairly,” Trump stated of Adams throughout a press briefing final month.

Adams is scheduled to face trial on federal corruption fees beginning on April 21.
