Senate rejects Bernie Sanders-led effort to cease U.S. offensive weapons gross sales to Israel

The Senate on Wednesday night rejected an effort to halt U.S. transfers of offensive weapons to Israel, in a collection of votes that highlighted Democratic divisions over continued U.S. assist for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s battle in Gaza.
